Because of its unique properties, TPU Elastollan~® is considered the ideal insulating / sheathing material for special cables. Some of these unique properties are excellent abrasion / wear resistance, flexibility, low-temperature flexibility, excellent tear & impact resistance, resistance to Ozone, and resistance to hydrolysis. Consequently, TPU is used in drag-cables, offshore cables, control bundles, power cables, coiled cables, seismic streamer sleeves, and other cable applications. The data presented here are based on results performed in the lab. The final performance of the cable should be checked and evaluated as it depends on factors other than the insulated material.
