摘要

This paper presents the ultimate load-carrying capacity of thin-walled sections in the large deflection elastic plastic range. The analysis is based on the combined geometric and material nonlinear finite strip method in association with the modified Ilushin yielding function. The cold-formed channel sections and welded H-shape sections are considered in the analysis, respectively. The emphasis is placed on the numerical studies of the effects of the loading types, load eccentricities and the aspect ratios of the cross sections on the ultimate load-carrying capacity of thin-walled section. Especially the rounding corner effect is involved in the analysis.
