摘要

This paper reports the results of the rainfall-sediment response of various land use in the Shangshe catchment (5.28km~2) in the Dabie Mountains of Anhui Province, China. During the study period (1999 & 2000), 80 rainfall events happened, among which, 46 events produced runoff. Comparison of hydrograph of peak specific sediment discharge shows the cultivated land produced the highest peak specific sediment discharge, which is more than 100 to 200 times of those of tea garden, Chinese fir forest, Pine forest and 10 times higher than that of the river outlet of the Shangshe catchment. The annual specific sediment discharge of the cultivated land is 9,511 t·km~(-2) and 10,348 t·km~(-2) in 1999 and 2000 respectively. These values emphasize the cultivated land area as the main sediment discharge area and the urgent need of soil erosion control measures in the cultivated land in the Dabie Mountains, China.
