Distribution of the Count of a Mobile Crossing the Location Areas and Paging with Random Walk

Location management is becoming more and more important in mobile communications when more and more people enjoy various services from it nowadays. In this paper, by using the method of density evolution, we set up equations for the number of area-crossing and paging for mobile terminal with random walk among cells, while the mobile terminal has exponential distributing sojourn time in a cell and the Poisson calling incoming. Then, we get the equilibrium distribution to the equations. This result can be helpful to studying optimization problem in location management when one needs the behavior of mobile terminal in location area.
