At present, most of the on-line insulation monitoring system is made up of wires network. In the practical applications the current system was found to have many disadvantages, such as complexity in wire connection, difficulty in device installation, and liability to be interfered by other electrical equipment. To solve the above problems, a new wireless on-line insulation monitoring system is proposed in this paper. The basis of this project is Bluetooth technology and wireless Smart Sensor modules conforming to the IEEE 1451.2 standard. The design scheme of the system''s hardware design and software design are given in the paper respectively. In the system, STIM (Smart Transducer Interface Module) comprises sensor, executor, AdμC845 (include two independent 24-bit ADCs), and BlueCore™02-FLASH Bluetooth module (fully compliant with the Bluetooth specification V1.1 and V1.2). NCAP (Network Capable Application Process) comprises BlueCore™02-FLASH Bluetooth module and CAN network module. The definition of TEDS (Transducer Electronic Date Sheet) is discussed in detail in this paper. The paper also discusses system security on practical application of power system. This design has many advantages such as compacting, anti-interference, and easy installation.
