Consideration of the Recycling System for Optical Disk (CD-R and DVD-R)

Recently, the recycling of storage media is becoming a very important issue. In this frame, construction of a recycling system for optical disk, i.e. CD-R and DVD-R, is needed. The number of optical disk produced in 2004 reached to more than 10 billion. In this research the total recycling system of optical disk is discussed. Then, the collection method for optical disk from personal consumers has been investigated. As the information erasure and protection is also important, the erasing methods of the information in used optical disk have been carried out as comparing of recycling method of silver and polycarbonate.
