摘要

Based on the research and understanding to roof changing characteristics of low permeability coal seam under the effects of coal mining, Tiefa coal mining area successfully demonstrated the coalbed methane development technology through surface vertical gob wells in 1994. As the first introduction of this technology to China through cooperation with UNDP project, by the end of 2005, Tiefa mining area has accumulated fruitful experiences and founded effective theory and principles through the completion of 21 gob wells. The widely application of this technology has proved that surface vertical gob well technology is an effective and feasible way to develop coalbed methane, especially in the mining area of low permeability coal seams.
