EDIACARAN-CAMBRIAN BOUNDARY SECTION AT ZHUJIAQING, NEAR DAHAI, HUIZE COUNTY, YUNNAN, CHINA: POTENTIAL STRATOTYPE SECTION FOR SUBDIVISION OF THE FIRST SERIES OF THE CAMBRIAN

摘要

The Zhujiaqing section is the type section of the Zhujiaqing Formation. Which is located near Dahai, Huize County, Yunnan, China. The contact with the underlying Tongying Formation is marked by the disappearance of the light-gray, thick-bedded dolostone of the Tongying Formation and the first occurrence of dark-gray, thin- to medium-bedded, siliceous dolostone and silicastone of the Daibu Member. The upper boundary is marked by a glauconite-bearing sandstone at the base of the overlying Shiyantou Formation. The glauconite-bearing sandstone bed is overlain by a volcanic ash layer (bentonite).
