摘要

A new approach to time-frequency analysis of radar signals backscattered by moving ground targets is proposed. The suggested approach is based on the extraction of phase-coupled harmonics contained in the short-time cross-bispectrum estimates of transient radar echo responses collected in ground surveillance Doppler radar by using vertical and horizontal polarization. A coherent homodyne polarimetric and continuous-wave radar operating in the millimeter range has been employed for measuring the radiation backscattered by a human who is walking in a vegetation clutter environment. The time-frequency distributions of the phase-coupled instantaneous frequencies demonstrate a clean separation of the walking human radar signature from the vegetation clutter.
