摘要

In Finland people have during the old times feared and hated bogs, but they have also often had a significant role in our oral tradition. Since 1990s a change took place in perceptions of bogs because of the new uses for peat and bogs. Peat fibres from cottongrass (Eriophorum vaginatum) became wellknown as a material for textiles, visiting bogs became a popular activity and many artists went to bogs and gave their performances or had exhibitions there. This interest to our last wilds seems still to grow.
