摘要

Torsional vibration dampers are located at the free end of many medium or high speed diesel engines to protect crankshafts from damage of torsional vibration. The damper with sleeve springs is one type of torsional vibration dampers and used widely because of its' reliable properties and convenience for free combination. This paper introduces research results of dampers with sleeve springs in PA6, PC25, MTU956, MAN20/27 diesel engines applying static and dynamic test methods. The results show that this type of damper has nonlinear properties; dynamic stiffness is bigger than static stiffness; dynamic torsional stiffness becomes smaller and damping coefficient changes when torsional angular increasing.
