Academy Literatures: Arrangement and Digitization—Constructing Academy Culture Database to Display the Glamour of Academy Literatures

Academies originate in the private studies where the individual pursues scholarly work and in Yamens that are government offices where ancient books and records of local authorities are put in order during the Tang Dynasty. Going through a thousand years' history, academies have accumulated many educational quintessence and ideas, which have never withdrawn from the historical stage but have influenced even today. Thanks must be given to academy literatures—a culture recording form. With the arrival of the information age, it is sad to find that a large number of academy literatures which are of thousands of year history can't meet modern people's informational need due to the lack of smooth circulation and necessary arrangement, which in turn reveals the inappropriateness of storing and circulating academy literatures. Considering of that, we digitalize the academy literatures through constructing Academy Culture Database which is characterized by distinctively Chinese traditional culture.
