Coordination Problems in E-Government

摘要

In this paper, we will explore the coordination issues surrounding e-government. To this end, we employ a simplified model and show that the key factors in choosing between e-government and conventional service delivery are the relative magnitude of cost differences between the modes of governmental services and the discrepancy in adoption costs among residents. A very preliminary exercise on the relation of e-government to the digital divide is conducted at the end of the paper.
