Optimizing concurrent processing efficiency: a practical methodology

摘要

A simple expression for concurrent processing efficiency is derived from an analysis of computing overheads. The parameters of the expression provide sufficient insight to guide system designers and algorithm developers to achieve cost-effective performance improvements in parallel and distributed computing implementations. An illustrative example demonstrates the utility of the expression and a practical methodology is proposed for the optimization of concurrent processing efficiency through prioritized adjustment of the parameters.
