A number of measurement studies have been done in the last couple of years on Gnutella's node degree distribution but not much works have been reported on the life-time distribution. As life-time distribution is an important characteristic in any simulated model for Gnutella, we elucidate in this paper a measurement result that we have obtained. It is found that the session life-time of the ultrapeer nodes follows a Gamma distribution of the form c_0(t/N)~(-0.43) exp(-t/(17N)), where C_0 is the normalization factor while N is a constant factor. Assume the new ultrapeer arrival rate is M nodes per minute, our result shows that the total number of 0.57 x 17 x 15 x M. On the contrary, the incoming ultrapeers per minute can be estimated reversely by N_0/(0.57 x 17 x 15) if the total number of ultrapeers on the Gnutella N_0 is given.
