REVIEW OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL (SHE) MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IMPLEMENTED IN A POWER GENERATION BUSINESS GROUP

The Power Generation Business Group in this study is committed to achieving high standard of SHE performance and several SHE Management Systems and Standards were implemented. A detailed examination of the SHE Management Systems and their effectiveness was recently performed. The SHE performance was compared with that of other industries and power companies. Also an assessment of the attitude and perception of the company employees towards the SHE Management Systems was conducted. With a comprehensive and substantial literature review, the criteria of effective SHE management systems were defined in the first place. Based on these criteria, the effectiveness of the SHE management systems was then analysed and a questionnaire was constructed for conducting the perception survey of employees within the Business Group. Finally recommendations for improving the effectiveness of SHE systems were provided based on the results of performance analysis and perception survey.
