摘要

A mathematical programming model is proposed to address the machine grouping and layout problem. The objective function is to minimize total movement cost determined as the sum of intra-cell and inter-cell movement as well as backtracking cost. Unit distance cost is changeable with parts differences. The proposed model integrated the two problems concurrently and considered the sequence of operations, logical layout of cells and decider subjective opinion. Finally the conclusion and further research are presented.
