THE VALUE OF INFORMATION IN OPTIMIZING SUPPLY CHAIN

摘要

The supply chain is a multitied system of suppliers through which information and materials flow. This paper discusses three models between a supplier and a retailer in a two-echelon system: no information, partial information and full information. It can enrich information through point-to-point communication, reduce the indefinitude of information and time-delay to gain information. So the effective use of information can optimize supply chain, improve its operational level.
