This paper addresses the problem of constructing a mixed network of multi-vessels/multi-routes for a container liner market, focusing on issues of how to deploy various-sizes of containerships to a set of sailing routes to serve ports with different demands. The purpose of this study is to analyze the viability of mega-container ship with a capacity of more than 10,000 TEUs in the light of how to optimize the choice of vessels and routes in order to not only satisfy all the demands but also maximize the total revenue of the service. This study also attempts to present a new algorithm called the LCKPP which can efficiently finds all the feasible paths between any pair of points within a given travel length. This study performs as follows: First, we make a brief introduction of the study, and then some related work is reviewed. Under some descriptions and assumptions, we model the problem and provide a solution approach by using the LCKPP. Finally, a case study shows how to choose various vessels for different routes.
