Feature mapping approach in progressive dies' Structure CAD

摘要

Features are characterized by describing and connecting different design stages. Sheet metal process features and die design features are proposed to model sheet metal process design and die's structure design. Based on this, a rule-based feature mapping approach is introduced to connect these two design views. In this mapping approach, design functions are used as intermediate representation to identify die design feature while rule-based design knowledge is used as guidance for building die's functional structure and generating die's structure design candidates for optimization design.
