The article is devoted to the issue of reducing energy costs in industrial separation processes in rectification plants. The article reviews the ways to increase energy efficiency and reduce the costs of resources in industrial separation processes, assesses the possibility of using a heat pump as a secondary energy recycler in industrial separation processes. Calculation and comparative analysis of closed and open circuits for switching the heat pump into industrial separation facilities are presented. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained, it can be concluded that when using the “rectification column-heat pump of a closed type” installation, the heat energy consumption in the form of heating steam is reduced by 20% compared to the traditional installation, with the “rectification column-heat pump of open type” energy consumption is reduced by 35%. Also, the overall dimensions of the column itself are reduced, hence, the design becomes less metal-consuming, capital costs are reduced. The feasibility study of the option of switching the heat pump into industrial separation processes is given.
