X and M - class flares associated with Solar Radio Burst Bursts Observation

Most of the early solar radio research was carried out by simple radio telescopes telescopes, interferometers and polarimeter polarimeters at various wavelengths from ground based stations. These spectral observations of solar ra radio emission of different types are associated with X dio – class and M – class solar flares. In the present study, we have made an attempt to study the association of X – class and M – class flares with spectral solar radio emission (type II & type IV) .D Durin uring the period 1967 g – 2009, the occurrence of total X & M class flares are 384 and 4883 respectively. The ccurrence number of X & M class flares are found to be associated with type II & typ type IV radio burst e burst. During the period . 196 1967 – 2009 2009, the , X & M class flare associa associated with type II bursts are 38 & 1 ted 180 and the association of same 80 class flare flares with type IV bursts are 43 & 86 respectively. As such the percentage of X and M class flares associated with type II bursts are 9.8% & 3.6% and the percentage of X & M class flar flares associated with type IV bursts are 11.1% & 1.7% respectively during solar cycle 20 to current solar cycle 24 24.The analytical results will be discussed in the light of existing theories.
