摘要

The semi-probabilistic safety concept of Eurocode 2 provides different partial safetyfactors for steel γ_s and concrete γ_c. This design format has been proven to be inconsistent with regardto non-linear structural analysis. To promote this computational method regarding its applicationin design practice a new safety format based on a single partial factor γ_R has to be derived. Thepaper presents a probabilistic procedure which allows to calibrate γ_R on the existing safety marginachieved by the current design codes. On account of the highly non-linear structural behavior,Monte Carlo simulations were used for reliability analysis. The result of the calibration procedurewas a variable safety factor depending on the failure mode, ductile or brittle.
