摘要

In this paper, the cyclic performance of welded flange plate joints between steel beams and box columns was studied with focus on joints without continuity plates. New reinforcement details with vertical edge stiffeners were proposed to reduce the plastic deformation demand on completed joint penetration (CJP) welds and column walls. The results indicated that using vertical edge stiffeners can transfer the plastic strain concentration from CJPs and column wall to beam plastic hinge.
