摘要

In the present work, we showcase a reusable miniaturized thermal sensor based on sinusoidal excitation for continuous monitoring of biofilms over several days. The sensor measurement system is able to steadily monitor biofilm formation with very low baseline. [1] The presented measurement method utilized for this application is based on the change in thermal properties, specific thermal conductivity and volumetric heat capacity, which leads to different measurement results due to maturation of biofilm. In this work, we describe how the system can detect the inhibition of biofilm formation by the effect of the antimicrobial peptides (AMP) Esculentin 1-a and OH-CATH-30 (see Tab. 1).
