摘要

One of the most explosive areas of growth in digital communications in the past few years has been in the field of digital video.The MPEG2 standard has become the foundation of a broad range of new consumer products which are capable of providing very high quality video and audio requiring a typical transfer information rate of 3-6 megabits per second per program.The first widely accepted digita video product is the direct broadcast satellite (DBS) which uses QPSK modulation.The second wave of digital video products will be for cable television,which must upgrade its services to compete with DBS.
