This paper describes the implementation of a fully optimized Line Echo Canceller based on ITU G.165 Recommendation on Texas Instruments' TMS320C3x and TMS320C54x chips.The line echo canceller consists of three major components.1) an adaptive FIR filter to estimate the echo,2) adaptive double-talk detector to detector to detect the presence of near-end speech and 3) a non-linear processor to squelch any residual echo not effectively canceled by the adaptive filter.description is given of the four major steps needed to complete the implementation on the DSP chips.
