This paper presents a design method of visual communication symbols and graphics, symbols of graphic design is defined as four dimensions, including speech, language use, context and semantics, is for the further research of visual communication symbol with the pattern recognition of graphic design. According to the principle of design semiotics, in the aspect of cognition and integration, the design of visual communication symbol and user research are innovated, and a new theoretical model of closed loop symbol is constructed. This paper studies the process of symbolic graphic design of the hidden Markov visual communication symbol. Based on the theory of symbolic graph algebra, based on the hidden Markov model, the representation model of visual communication symbol is put forward. At the same time, the graphic effect is realized by using the fast generating network technology, and a computer prototype system idas1.0 is established to realize the design process of the auxiliary symbol graphics on Windows 7 platform. It establishes a design knowledge base to obtain the semiotic evaluation of expert design to improve the design and cognitive efficiency of symbol graphics. The theoretical system of visual communication symbol graphic design based on hidden markov model is verified.
