The production of the NO radica by an Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jet (APPJ)has beeninvestigated by means of absorption spectroscopy in the mid infrared region (IR)and opticalemission spectroscopy (OES)in the ultra violet (UV)part of the spectrum.The APPJ under studyoperates in argon with air admixtures up to 1%.Simu taneous application of the supplementarydiagnostic techniques shows that air admixture can be used to control the production of NOradicals.OES can be used to characterise the re ative NO production at small air admixtures.Inaddition it is shown that a small addition of water vapour strongly effects on the production of NOradicals especially at higher air admixtures (more than 0.2%).
