Transient spark,a novel type of streamer-to-spark transition discharge in N2/CO2/H2O mixtures wasinvestigated.Despite DC applied voltage it has a pulsed character with very short (~100 ns)high current(~1 A)pulses with repetitive frequencies of some kHz,and generates non-equilibrium p asma.Thee ectrica and optical discharge properties were studied as functions of the frequency and CO2concentration in N2.Emission of N2 2 nd and 1 st positive systems,CN violet system,NH,and atomic N,Oand C lines were detected.Two distinct discharge modes at low and high frequencies were found,withdifferent electrica properties and emission spectra.The aim of these studies was deeper understanding ofthe induced chemical processes related to the theory of the origins of life.
