The possibilities to obtain the large-volume non-self-sustained atmospheric pressure glowdischarge with help of the self-sustained normal dc glow discharge in helium were demonstrated.The latter was served as 'plasma electrode' for main discharge in neighboring chamber in thethree-electrode configuration. Electrical parameters of the non-self-sustained discharge fordifferent voltage sign combinations of electrodes are presented. Conditions of discharge transferfrom one chamber section to another are under investigations. The spatial profiles of potential atdifferent discharge current are determined. It is shown that a larger volumetric plasma can begenerated in the configuration anode-cathode-anode. A comparative analysis of obtained resultswith ones for discharges maintained by micro- and macrohollow cathodes is underway.
