We have proposed a new and relatively fast synthesis technique for ALU for any radix system. Matrix element rotation or shifting technique, shown here, is very efficient in the computation of arithmetic and logical operations. Though we require few temporary memories but still it is helpful for faster operation (Table 16). Table 15 shows the simulation results of all the operations designed and verified using FPGA Spartan 3 device. Here in [11], addition operation has been performed in Radix-4. Comparative analysis is made for radix 4, 6 and 8 systems using Xilinx simulator using FPGA board for area, delay and power calculations, which three together play a pivotal role in VLSI chip design.
