We have dealt with the problem of resource allocation in a heterogenous network based upon the channel conditions. As SINR is one of the best ways to determine the channel conditions, the share of the resource allocated to a given node is calculated with respect to SINR. The throughput is maximized with the help of a Utility function which is an optimization function dependent on SINR and share of the resources allocated. Though there is much research work on resource allocation based on SINR, this paper throws a different perspective by introducing priorities to the nodes. The comparison is made between the resource allocation without SINR and resource allocation based on SINR. Results show that resource allocation based on SINR gives more throughput than the technique without SINR.
