In this paper the microstrip patch antenna is simulated using Ansoft HFSS for ISM band at 5.3GHz operating frequency using ROGER RT' / DUROID 5870 substrate with the patch of E-shape. Microstrip patch antennas are mostly designed for ISM band at frequency 2.4GHz for industrial, medical, scientific, WLAN, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth short-range wireless applications but due to congestion present in a license-free 2.4GHz band, therefore, ISM 5.3 GHz band has been used. An improvement in return loss has been achieved using duroid 5870 with the return loss of -46 dB. VSWR is also improved which is approximately near unity with the value of 1.009 and an improvement in gain has been achieved with enhanced frequency from 2.4 GHz to 5.3 GHz with duroid ' 5870 instead of FR4 with E-shaped radiating patch i.e. 6.28 dB. Microstrip patch antenna here is designed for ISM band at frequency 5.3 GHz for industrial, medical, scientific, WLAN, Wi-Fi and long-range wireless applications with higher data rates.
