Dynamic testing of the pantograph and catenary in the laboratory is an essential way to determine their mechanical properties and calibrate the testing pantograph. As the high required frequency of contact force between them in high-speed railway environment, the development of a novel pantograph-catenary dynamics testing rig with electrohydraulic actuation is proposed in this paper. Mechanical structure as well as software design is established. Cross-coupling control strategy by introducing an asynchronous term is used to synchronize the redundant freedom drive conveniently. High accuracy tracking of sinusoidal signal is insured by amplitude and phase control scheme. The dynamic frequency response function of the standard and measured contact forces is frequency domain identified by discrete Fourier transforms. Performance of the proposed controllers evaluated through experimental results shows high efficiency.
