Single crystals of (1-x) (PMN-xPT) and (1-x)Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPbTiO3 (PZN-xPT) near their morphotropic phase boundaries (MPBs) are under extensive investigations for their extraordinary high dielectric and piezoelectric behavior.Applications of those single crystals caused breakthrough in ultrasonic transducer materials and devices.For applications such as transducers,actuators and memory devices,ferroelectrics are expected to experience static or alternating electric fields.
