We present in this work a numerical model for Q-switched double cladding-pumped seven-core fiber laser. Highpower and high energy Ytterbium doped multicore fiber lasers are obtained based on the rate equations from population inversion, signal propagation light and pump. The characteristics of the output pulses are enhanced. The energy of our configuration produced is almost eight times higher than that produced by a single core fiber laser, and the peak power reaches a very high level. Based on these simulations, we have successfully demonstrated an actively Q-switched seven-core fiber laser produces a large nanosecond pulse application to materials processing.
