This paper shows the application of a new system diminution methodology to the multi input multi output (MIMO) power system plant. In this proposed methodology two standard plant diminution methods are combined for the diminution of complex plant into a reduced order system. In this simplified system, the balanced realization method is used for the determination of denominator and the numerator is derived by using Cauer second form. This methodology circumvents the steady state drawback in time response of the balanced realization and ensures the stability of the simplified system for the given stable complex system. A popular power system model is taken from the literature for validating the proposed approach and comparing the method with some other existing system diminution methods.
