Information Technology and Virtual Management: The New Impetus to Sustainable Development of Construction Enterprises

The competitive advantage of enterprises comes from the dynamic capabilities arising from the effective allocation of both internal and external resources. The construction enterprises can make use of information technology (IT) and virtual management (VM) modes to optimize the allocation of internal and external resources in order to create dynamic IT capability and collaboration effect on VM, this provide the construction enterprises with diverse competitive advantages and can promote their sustainable development. This paper analyzes the relationship between IT and VM, discusses the mechanism that IT and VM have impacts on the sustainable competitive advantage of the construction enterprise, describes the effects that IT and VM make on the development of the construction enterprises and presents a sustainable development strategy for the construction enterprises based on IT and VM.
