Research on the Human Capital Accumulation of Rural Workers in the Building Industry: Enlightened by 'the Rural Worker Shortage'

According to relevant statistics, the number of rural workers in construction field has already come to 31 million, accounts for 80.5% of the number of employees in the construction field. On the other hand, the building industry also absorbed the most rural workers and is the first industry which rural workers flow into. The rural workers have become the principal part of the human resources in building industry. 'The rural worker shortage' does not really mean that the number of rural worker is insufficiency;it refers to the lack of the ability to get jobs. With the development of building industry and the demand of the building workers is increasing gradually, 'the rural worker shortage' will inevitably affect the development of building industry. This paper studies the human capital accumulation of the rural worker in building industry under the background of 'the rural worker shortage', through the analyzing of the essentialness of 'the rural worker shortage' and the current situation of the rural worker colony in the building industry. Through the metrologic analysis on accumulation of human capital and economic growth, it brings forward the some countermeasure suggestions for the investment on human capital in building industry. It is very important for the sustainable development of building industry to improve the rural worker's ability to get jobs.
