ICT based communication systems as enabler for technology transfer

In the present era, an important mantra followed at workplace is - `Communication, Communication, Communication.' Effective communication holds the key to improved decision making, improved working and progress. Last few decades have been witness to spread and growth of information & communication technologies (ICTs) including mobile technologies across the world. ICTs are facilitating improved communication and sharing of information both within and beyond the boundaries of the organization, thus leading to improved connectivity and interactions among different stakeholders of the organization. This paper explores the communication problems which arise in the technology transfer process and their impact on the implementation of technology transfer. The paper suggests a STAR (Communication) Model for technology transfer. The paper also explores the scope for usage of ICT based communication systems for faster and effective technology transfer.
