The paper briefly introduces Virtual Reality techonologies and Web 3D techonologies, and then elaborates the following eight typical Web 3D development techonologies: VRML, X3D, Java 3D, Cult 3D, ShockWave 3D, Virtools, Viewpoint and WebMax. The analysis of the features of the techonologies will provide users with reliable bases for their selection.
