Multimedia applications are one of the most frequently used applications for mobile devices. For each mobile device, lots of multimedia data are frequently stored, read, edited, and deleted, and these work are repeated indefinitely. At the aspect of multimedia data operations, storage system management is most important for efficient multimedia operations. In this paper, we propose an efficient data placement and retrieval scheme mobile embedded systems. In the mobile devices, the main storage media is NAND flash memory. We note that in the NAND flash memory, video data should be stored and retrieved with the consideration of flash memory page and block boundaries. In the view of this, we reorganize multimedia frames taking into account of NAND flash memory location.
