In order to study the blanking mechanism for precision progressive die,a plane-strain rigid-plastic finite element model is established to simulate the deformation process. To verify the simulation result,the corresponding experiment is also carried out. According to the finite element analysis result,the hydrostatic stress state of the shear zone in blanking process using precision progressive die is different with the general blanking one’s because of the strong pressurepad force. It makes the parts produced by precision progressive die obtain better sheared edge.
