Computer simulation of a tree under the action of wind based on a physical model

摘要

The simulation of a tree and its animation resulting from wind are very important in the computer aided design of landscape. Furthermore, wind influences the shape and the growth of a tree. A physical model of a tree under the action of wind was established based on the theory of elasticity in this paper. The shapes of the tree were obtained at various parameters in the model. The effects of parameters on the shape of the tree were also discussed. The method in the paper is helpful for the further study of landscape designs and mechanisms of tree growth.
