摘要

Besides the engineering requirement such as design, manufacture, measure, the dimensions labeled on an engineering drawing should also be orderly and neat. However, the dimensions generated according to the 3D information are usually placed randomly in 2D drawings. This paper reports an approach to optimize the placement of horizontal and vertical dimensions based on the strategy of dimension set classification. Simulated annealing algorithm is employed to search for the optimal or approximately optimal dimension placement. This approach has been implemented in our geometric modeling system GEMS.
