The research aims at formulating optimization framework for multireservoir release. Two inter connected reservoirs (Aliyar and Sholayar) from Parambikulam Aliyar Project are chosen in which unsatisfied demand of Aliyar reservoir is raised to Sholayar reservoir to satisfy the demand of Aliyar reservoir and also to improve the release of Sholayar reservoir. Regression based Stochastic model is used and Modified Plant Propagation algorithm is applied to produce optimal results. The results show that 97% of demand of Aliyar reservoir is satisfied through Sholayar reservoir. Hence the release optimization of Multireservoir system is more efficient than single reservoir release optimization.
