A compact planar filtering quasi-Yagi antenna for Ultra-wideband applications is presented in this letter. The proposed antenna consists of an exponential tapered-slot transition structure, a modified bow-tie driver, an upward exponentially bent passive reflector and two passive directors. To avoid the electromagnetic interference from WLAN operating over a frequency range of 5.15-5.825 GHz, two symmetrical U-shape slots are etched beside the slotline transition. Simulated and measured results confirm that the proposed antenna obtains an impedance bandwidth of more than 136%, determined by the VSWR less than 2, covering from 2.9 GHz to 15.3 GHz except the stop band 5.1-6.1GHz.
