We propose a polarization-insensitive tunable dual-band terahertz metamaterial absorber (MMA) based on square mono-graphene patch. The MMA is periodic structure and its unit cell is composed of three layers. For the fundamental response and high-order response, the designed MMA can realize tunable dual-band absorption via shifting the conductivity of graphene sheet. The full-wave simulation results demonstrate that the center absorption frequency of the MMA is tunedfrom 0.78 THz to 0.95 THz at lower frequency region andfrom 2.46 THz to 3.40 THz at higher frequency region by adjusting external bias voltage. In addition, owing to the symmetrical structure, it is polarization-insensitive for both TE and TM modes.
