FRP lamp poles have been used in municipal engineering due to their superior strength-to-weight ratio, high corrosion resistance and fine-looking appearance. However, because the diameter, wall thickness and elastic modulus is variational along the length direction of the pole, it is difficult to analysis the mechanical properties. In this paper the structural design of FRP lamp poles is discussed in detail.
